Concealers and Uses

Different Kinds Of Concealers:

  • Green Based Concealer - This is used to counteract redness from blemishes and Rosacea. Also, used to disguise broken capillaries and veins. This is used on blotchy patches and should be used under your foundation.

  • Yellow Based Concealer - This is used to counteract dark circles under the eyes. Yellow neutralizes purplish, bluish shadows.

  • Lilac Based Concealer - This blends away sallowness, sickly yellowish hue. It helps to give dull yellow skin a lift. This helps to provide a healthy glow.

  • Natural/ Skin tone Based Concealer - This concealer should match your skin tone perfectly or should be half a shade lighter than your skin tone. This flesh tone concealer is used to cover imperfections and blemishes. This helps to blend your imperfections in with your skin so you will have a flawless looking complexion. Natural concealer can be used over or under your foundation, that is your decision. Set your concealer with powder.

Tips on how to avoid breakouts & problem skin:

Tips On How To Avoid Breakouts and Problem Skin:
  • Try to stay stress free and try not to get depressed. (Easier said than done!)

  • Do not touch your face. If you put your hands on your face the bacteria and oils from your hands will transfer from them to your face.

  • Always wash your hands first before you start your skin care routine.

  • Avoid foods with high levels of saturated fat, such as fried foods. Also don't eat too many dairy products. These can contribute to blocked pores.

  • Drink plenty of water. Recommended daily amount is 8 glasses.

  • Make sure you pull your hair back at night before you go to bed. This will prevent hair oils and grease transferring from your hair to your face.

  • Eat as many portions of fresh fruits and vegetables as you can handle. Recommended daily amount is 5 serving.

  • Use heat on your pimples. Try a warm compress.

  • Resist the temptation to pick your spots/ pimples. When you pick your skin, it inflames the tissue around the pimple. This can also lead to the spread of infection.

  • Exercise regularly- This is the best way to get your whole body to working right, from the inside out.

  • Eat natural vegetable oils (olive oil) and fish oils, which are beneficial to your skin and metabolism.

  • Drink plenty of freshly squeezed or diluted fruit juice for vitamins and improve your skin appearance.

  • Get at least 8 hours of sleep at night. This is so good for your whole body and your skin.

  • Do not use harsh skin care products. This will only make the problem worse.

  • Do not use too many hair products as they can lead to skin breakouts.

  • If problems still continue, then you might want to consult a dermatologist because over the counter remedies may not be enough for you. You may need a prescription from a dermatologist.

Safe Sun Skincare Tips For Summer:

Safe Sun Skincare Tips:
  • Always wear sunglasses with UV filtered lenses to protect your eyes from the sun's harmful rays.
  • Do not ever air dry after a swim. Always towel dry. Water drops act as a magnifying glass.
  • Always use a sunscreen even on a cloudy day. Reapply it regularly.
  • Apply your sunscreen 15 minutes before you go out in the sun to give it time to absorb.
  • When you are sitting outside always sit in the shade.
  • Protect your hair from the sun and chemicals in pools. Use products that have a protective layer of silicone and UV protection.
  • Wear a higher SPF sunscreen on your face.
  • Have your moles checked regularly, especially any that come up after exposure to the sun.
  • Salt water and chemicals in pools are drying to your skin, so take showers immediately after you have been swimming.
  • Use a sunscreen with UVA and UVB protection. Look for ingredients like avobenzone (absorbs and deactivates rays) or titanium dioxide (blocks rays and bounces them away from the body).
  • Make sure you drink plenty of water so you will not become dehydrated.
